Story
At Rose Road we remained open every day throughout 2020 thanks to our amazing staff and supporters. This winter we are determined to ensure that our families have some help making Christmas special in this strange new world.
Why we need your support
For us December is usually about gathering together for parties, going skating, visiting Father Christmas, enjoying nativity shows and carol concerts and singing Christmas songs. We have wonderful organisations that usually provide our children with gifts, put on amazing party food and allow us to host special fundraising events in their venues. This year none of this will be possible. Instead we need your help to make this season magical and special for our families. Could you donate the money you would usually spend on your work Christmas party or the cost of a round of drinks in the pub? Could you give the £10 you might have spent at our Christmas fayre or the donation you would have given at our carol concert or nativity? If you are home working could you offer the cost of the fuel or tickets that you have saved in not travelling into work?
In return we promise to do all we can to celebrate the season in a safe and accessible way for our families. Our plans include purchasing Christmas presents for the children staying with us on the run up to Christmas, hosting a day of inclusive zoom calls with the big man himself and running as many COVID safe small celebrations as we can for the children that we will be seeing for respite or day services or activity schemes. We will also provide additional support to families as they need us this season, and we will ensure that no Rose Road family goes without.
So whilst Santa starts cleaning his sleigh with Santa-tizer (sorry we couldn't resist a Christmas pun) we will start planning the Christmas Rose Road fun (sorry we couldn't resist a rhyme too, we'll stop now!)
