This summer, a group of young people, staff and volunteers from Regenerate will be embarking on a life-enriching cycle from the colosseum in Rome, back to our London home. This is a 17 day cycle which will require them to ride 70 miles a day on average, and will take them up a total of 65,775 feet of mountains and hills!

The ride will bring people together from different walks of life, and everyone who takes part will learn to push through mental barriers, grow in self-belief and resilience, and grow a sense of teamwork and camaraderie. The journey will allow the team to see that anything is possible and inspire young people from our community to dream big dreams.

By doing this ride, we are fundraising to support young people from our community who face barriers to employment. We want to raise £50,000 to grow our social enterprise and employ hundreds of young people facing barriers to employment over the coming years.

The Feel Good Bakery (TFGB) provides training, mentoring and employment for young people so that they can grow in confidence and key skills, make positive changes in their lives and impact their community for good. Young people growing up in Roehampton and Putney face challenges in life that affect their outcomes both in the short and long term.

In Feb 2022, Wandsworth council found that the number of young people aged 16-24 in Roe & Putney claiming Job Seekers was 5 times more than the average across the rest of Wandsworth. TFGB aims to close this huge gap, and the next step in doing this is to expand from their current coffee carts, to a shop, which will allow us to employ, train and support more young people than we've ever had the capacity to before!
