Story
The Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County (CACRC) joined the Beards for Bucks fun in 2016 and successfully raised $15,000 in our first year with the help of our dedicated law enforcement partners. Flash forward to 2021, when the CACRC is the highest raising CAC in the state for the third year in a row and smashed not only our goal but our previous records, raising over $110,000!
It was a year to remember with cowboy cauldron raffles, fierce and friendly competition, new participants dominating the leadership board, and our first ever K9 participant coming in first for Most Funds Raised! First-year participant Officer James Caldwell moved to Portsmouth, NH from Chicago and participated in Beards for Bucks for the first time ever. In his first year, he raised over $18,000 for the CACRC. James attended CAC interviews during his work in Chicago and knows the impact CACs have on child abuse investigations and the empowerment of the child during their disclosure process. When he came to Portsmouth, he was shocked that the CACRC was a nonprofit and raised funds to continue their mission on their own. He was determined to do everything he could to raise money for the CACRC, including going to local businesses and collecting donations from friends and family both in New Hampshire and back in his home state. He is the epitome of a BFB All Star!
Over the years, we have seen BFB All-Stars all over our county and we know that we would have never achieved this phenomenal success without their hard work, dedication, and above all, those BEARDS! We have seen scruff, braids, blue nails, and K9 participants! One thing we know for sure is you can't beat the spirit Rockingham County has for Beards for Bucks!
Help us prove that Rock County Rocks and support our law enforcement partners as they raise funds for Beards for Bucks 2022! BFB helps raise funds for your local Child Advocacy Center. As a non-profit center, we need your help! We look forward to celebrating this year with past participants and hopefully some new BFB Champions!
