Story
The Robert Ansted Memorial Fund has been set up in memory of Robert Ansted (1951-2022), who was the volunteer Whiteley Village Community Church Minister from May 2021 until his passing in October 2022.
Having previously been the Pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hersham, Robert led regular Sunday services in Huntley House, to which all Whiteley Village residents were welcome.
A local Hersham man, Robert made provision in his Will for the Whiteley Village Community Church, who have kindly agreed to make regular donations to the Robert Ansted Memorial Fund, for the welfare of Whiteley Village residents in financial difficulty.
The objective of the Robert Ansted Memorial Fund is to provide financial relief to Whiteley Village residents in a crisis. All applications to the fund are subject to means testing by The Whiteley Homes Trust, and longer term provision of support, hand-in-hand with other relevant agencies, will be sought for the resident when appropriate.
The fund is managed by The Whiteley Homes Trust to support Whiteley Village residents with a genuine welfare need, that might include difficulty in meeting their Weekly Maintenance Charges, buying food, paying their heating bill, difficulty in funding transport to medical appointments etc. Alternatively, it could pay for emergency equipment, such as a wheelchair, while longer term arrangements are being made.
Donations to the Robert Ansted Memorial Fund for the Welfare of Whiteley Village residents are governed under The Whiteley Homes Trust registered charity (Charity No: 1103056) which welcomes further donations to the fund from other organisations and individuals.
