Story
Your local Kirkcudbright lifeboat volunteers need your support to fund the modernisation of the lifeboat station they have been using for the past 130 years.
Your kind donation will help provide more efficient and practical facilities that will improve crew and casualty wellbeing, and bring the crew one step closer to saving every one.
This is a unique opportunity for you to make a real lifesaving difference in your community.
The boathouse is unheated and it’s cramped, cold and damp. When we’re working on the boat in winter, it’s hats and jackets on. You can help give our crew the facilities they deserve – separate changing facilities and WCs for men and women, and a place they can warm up in.
John Collins - Lifeboat Operations Manager and Station Mechanic
Kirkcudbright's new lifeboat station will bring so many benefits, including:
• modern changing facilities, showers, toilets and heating
• mechanic’s workshop
• operations room with kitchen facility
• improved access and parking to help speed up response times
When you come off a shout you're cold and you stay cold. I'm looking forward to having an inside loo. I hope that with your help we can get these improvements done soon.
