Story
Help us raise the final £1 million to fit and furnish our new 62 bedroom Ronald McDonald House at Oxford Children's Hospital.
In 2020 we will open the doors to a new purpose built 62-bedroom Ronald McDonald House. It will provide free home away from home accommodation for families with seriously ill children in Oxford Children's Hospital.
As well as en-suite bedrooms, accommodating up to four people, the House will have large kitchens, dining areas, laundry rooms, lounges, a garden and children's playroom.
In the last 15 years the number of children needing treatment at Oxford Childrens Hospital has doubled. Its a regional centre of excellence so children from a wide geographical area are treated at the Hospital.
We currently have a 17 bedroom House on the top floor of Oxford Childrens Hospital. However, we arent able to help all the families who need us, and the House is too small to support families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care. In 2018, we had to turn away 300 families.
The Make our Oxford House a Home appeal will fund the final fit out and furnishings for the new House. We will create an environment that is homely and where families can stay together in comfortable rooms, close to their child in hospital. They can prepare homemade meals and relax and recharge so they can stay strong for their child in hospital.
