RMA is a non-profit charity serving Rushmoor Borough Council & Surrounding areas founded by local Muslim residents in 2022 to provide public benefit to establish a place of worship in Rushmoor Borough Council, collaborate with interfaith communities promoting tolerance, build bridges & drive a positive change in supporting civic improvements, advice community on religion & support persons who are suffering from hardship and/or distress.
Rushmoor is a local government district and a borough in Hampshire, bordering Surrey, England. It covers the towns of Aldershot and Farnborough.
How many are we Alhamdulillah, we have over 2,500 Muslims in the area originating from nationalities around the world, who have settled in this area and the numbers are still growing.
What are we looking for For such a large Muslim community we are reliant on hiring public venues to perform our prayers. This is a unique project as there is not a single community centre within Rushmoor & the surrounding areas.
We are currently holding Friday prayers (Jumah) in a Christian Church. We are in URGENT need to purchase our own place of worship. Please help us to build house of Allah which will be used for prayers and support the needy people of our community.
Sometimes people ask us Why should we donate for the mosque in UK? Our response to this is that people in certain parts of the world are deprived of food and shelter; whereas we here are spiritually deprived from our deen in a non-Muslim country. A mosque is more than just bricks and mortar, it is the hub of the community where help and support can be provided.
If we have our own place, we can further enrich our Muslim community with a place to perform daily Salah and quranic classes for the children, Muslim funeral support and much more.
In the short time the team has been operating, on top of securing Jumah in a church, we have supported the poor & needy people arriving in UK with food and clothing. We have supported the needy Muslims during Ramadan with food twice a day for 30 days. We have supported families during bereavement for funerals. We have organized donations for the poor & needy people around the world.
We want to and can do a lot more if we have a permanent place of our own. Please help us to be stronger so that we can better support the community and the needy people around the world. Please be generous in your sadaqa Jariya and donate to build the house of Allah.
To accomplish these and other essential activities, Rushmoor Muslim association depends on YOUR generosity to help us buy a Masjid......Alhamdulillah, we have collected £160,000 so far.
