Story
With the vast majority of children and young people at home during the Covid pandemic, having an access to an IT device is an essential piece of equipment to enable pupils to keep learning. Whilst schools are able to provide some devices, and the Government has also supplied some to schools, these are not enough to meet the needs of all of our pupils. We have 12,000 pupils in our family of schools and we are seeking to raise money for 500 devices. We use Chromebooks which cost approximately £200, and aim to raise £100,000.
A number of our schools serve some of the most deprived communities in Oxfordshire and Swindon, and we are prioritising the provision of IT Devices to these schools. Details of our schools can be found here. If you would like a donation to go towards one particular school please say which one in your comments alongside your donation.
Here is what one of our Year 6 pupils said having benefited from this campaign:
"I myself only had my phone to log onto, as my brother was using our laptop for his work and it was really a struggle to keep with the work on a phone, as it was quite a slow process for me to receive and hand in work, but since I have had a laptop that you have kindly donated I have been able to join calls from school and do my work without any struggle or problems, which has helped me get the right education from home like school."
We have also produced a short video which is both a thank you to everyone who has donated to our campaign as well as giving an insight into the the difference it is making. Please click here to view the webpage which has our video.
Any size donation will help, thank you.
