Story
Ride for Rhinos 2022 is a must-do African adventure raising funds for rhino conservation and community support in the Waterberg, South Africa. Starting and finishing at Ant's Nest Safari Lodge, it is a week of horse-riding through the stunning Waterberg landscape, seeing rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other wildlife from the back of your horse. For experienced riders capable of spending 6-7 hours in the saddle, you could be galloping alongside giraffe, swimming with your horse, and getting up close to the iconic rhino.
The aim of the Ride is to raise vital funds to help save the rhino, and provide support for the community that protects them. The Waterberg is one of three remaining bastions of rhino left on the planet. During the last 18 months, travel restrictions due to Covid and no tourist income has led to a lack of conservation funding and loss of jobs, piling pressure on a community that was already dealing with the scourge of poaching, which has brought the rhino population to the brink of extinction.
Please support the riders on their adventure and sponsor them in this vital cause. All are paying their costs to travel to South Africa. Every penny raised will go to UK charity, Waterberg Rhino, and help save the rhino for future generations while improving the lives of those who seek to protect them.
