Story
It has been a challenge at KaisKids over the past few years to raise money for basic needs such as food.
We have faced and are continuing to experience food challenges in rural Cambodia due to the aftermath of the pandemic, erratic weather patterns, the downturn of the worlds economy, rising food prices and rice shortages.
In our rural setting at KaisKids, we were able to grow rice in the farm to supplement our food budget, but due to the change in seasonal weather patterns in local area, this no longer remained viable.
At our new location, which has better infrastructure and more favourable conditions, we are hoping to cultivate a small patch of land where we can grow rice, but this will take a few years to develop.
Rice and decent water continue to be our most basic needs.
On average, $10 can buy enough rice to last one child 4 weeks or $120 will buy enough rice to last one child an entire year.
This year 2023 we are spending approx. $435 per month = 15x 50kg sacks (@38 million grains of rice)
By raising revenue for rice, you are helping to nourish the children at KaisKids. Thank You.
