Story

One afternoon in 2011, Refugee Education UK (then Refugee Support Network) was set up in response to the growing number of unaccompanied asylum seekers in the London borough of Brent. Now in 2023, REUK has worked with young people all over the UK. We are seeing a higher demand for our services and support than ever before, but we remain hopeful.

My education dreams and career has been nightmares, until I heard about this organisation that rekindled my hopes again and makes me felt more inspired and motivated. With organisations like this, gives the opportunity to most refugees and asylum seekers to have a chance at meaningful life and happiness. Especially with the very professional, sensitive and patient advice line; sky is the limits for every asylum seekers who're lovers of knowledge and sound education. - Young person supported through our national advice line.

Through a combination of regular mentoring, wellbeing support, leadership opportunities and higher education advice, young refugees from over 45 countries are welcomed and encouraged to rebuild their lives here with hope and optimism. Many are here on their own and almost half are survivors of trafficking or torture.

Please support our wonderful friends and athletes as they train and give up their time to support young refugees in the UK. We are incredibly grateful and excited to be one of the charities represented by the Kensal Rise Triathlon Team, who are entering the Blenheim Palace Triathlon this summer.

Your donation will be used where it is needed most within REUK, across our programmes and towards the refurbishment of our new education centre, which will create a unique and safe space for young refugees who urgently need it.

£25 could fund a mentoring session for a young person.

£47 provides a face-to-face session with our Further Education Project Coordinator in which a young refugee can get personalised guidance, information and support to move forward.

£65 enables five young refugees to participate in an interactive workshop to explore and understand their education options and next steps.

£100 could pay for a training session for 15 new mentors.
