Story
Restharrow Scrape is an important breeding, resting and overwintering site for many bird species and has been a key part of what we offer at Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory. In 2018 Avocets bred here for the first time!
With your help we have not only managed to achieve the first of our targets - to buy the land, but we have also been able to employ an assistant warden to monitor the reserve. Excavation works have also been carried out to enlarge the Scrape and a new fully disabled access hide has been constructed.
But we still have a long way to go to complete our project!
If we can reach our goal of raising £340,000 it will help us complete our building work and provide access for all. It will also allow us to work more closely with the local community, especially with young people from schools and community groups.
This is why we're asking for your help.
Any donation you can make will go directly towards developing and managing this piece of wildlife habitat for the future.
If you are as passionate about this project as we are, please share this campaign!
