Scottish Wildlife Trust Resilience Fund

The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration began in 2021. In recognition of this turning point for nature, and to ensure we are in the best possible position to rise to the challenges ahead, we launched the Scottish Wildlife Trust Resilience Fund.

Story

The Resilience Fund focuses on three areas:

Ensuring climate resilience

Our planet is warming at a faster rate than any other time over the last 10,000 years. Climate change is impacting how we manage our reserves the Fund will help us adapt to floods, landslips and the threats from non-native species.

Building connections

Simply spending time outdoors brings a host of benefits to our physical and mental health. We want to enjoy the rewarding experiences which nature can provide, regardless of age or background. The Fund will help build connections, ensure young peoples voices are heard and provide career skills through our education programmes.

Promoting nature-based solutions

Nature-based solutions help reduce flooding, capture carbon, protect pollinators and so much more. The Fund will help us with many nature-based solutions, from growing more woodlands, restoring peatbogs and promoting conservation grazing.
