The beautiful churches of St Wilfrid's in Ribchester and St Saviour's at Stydd are situated in the historic rural village of Ribchester. Both churches are Grade I listed. The Parochial Church Council serves the community of this parish as well being responsible for maintenance of the two churches.

Story

On Sunday 2nd February, two thieves brazenly stole several of the stone flags from the pathways leading up to St Wilfrid's Church.

It is tremendously upsetting to see our beautiful grade I listed village church targeted in this way. We believe these were stolen to order, as there is considerable value placed on certain types of flags and coping stones.

We are pleased that our insurers have agreed to cover much of the cost of replacement and are working with heritage specialists to arrange for this to happen as swiftly as possible. However, we need to raise £500 to cover the insurance excess.
