Story
Our amazing tail lift van, lovingly called Ralph, is nearing retirement and we are raising funds to replace him. Ralph is a crucial part of of the Herts Disability Sports Foundation team, enabling us to transport equipment to where it is needed.
Our Bikes without Barriers project involves taking 30 2 wheel Frog bikes to schools in areas of deprivation to teach young people how to ride. In addition to our learn to ride fleet, we need to fit reconditioned bikes that children can take home along with a new helmet to continue their cycling journey. In the last academic year we worked with 1096 children in areas of deprivation across Hertfordshire, teaching 346 to cycle independently and reconditioning 386 bikes for young people to take home.
Our large adapted bikes require a tail lift van to transport them to special schools and community venues, to enable people to try adapted bikes in their locality.
We have received a grant for £14,000 but we now need to raise as much as possible to ensure we get the best replacement possible.... after all, the new van has got to live up to all Ralph's hard work!
Thank you
