Story
Matt's story:
Hi my name is Matt and Im the Project Officer for Mind in Mid Herts in St Albans
We provide support services in Hertfordshire to empower people to take control of their mental health.
I started two and a bit years ago as a Support Worker, and what I enjoy most about this job is helping to reduce the stigma around mental health and seeing first-hand how our services help people to improve their sense of wellbeing.
Seeing isolated people make meaningful connections with others in our groups, and seeing peoples confidence grow through being provided with the right tools and support, really makes me proud to work for such an amazing charity.
With more and more people being affected by their mental health, and to mark both Suicide Prevention Day and World Mental Health Day, I would encourage you to please get involved.
Please donate, volunteer or simply spread the word, so we can continue our mission of ensuring that the mental health of everyone in Hertfordshire is supported and respected.
Thank you.
Project Officers and Support Workers like Matt are vital in helping people to feel empowered to take control of their mental health
I have been supported by Matt initially over the phone since the back half of Covid when I was in a very dark place. Now I meet Matt at Mind every Friday. I have severe mental health problems and it can't always be easy for Matt to support me when I'm too paranoid, etc. I can honestly say I don't know where I would be without the support and encouragement from Matt.
