Story
Promote peace, celebrate resilience, and be inspired by uplifting stories from survivors and advocates. Each year STAND! brings together members of our community, our local leadership, and survivors to acknowledge those we have lost, celebrate our progress, and listen deeply to the stories and wisdom of survivors.
Join us for two virtual luncheons where we explore the emerging alternatives for emergency responses to domestic violence with our local leaders in law enforcement. Hear from survivors about their experiences and healing and announce the 2020 Rollie Mullen Leadership Award recipient. Keynote address by Rachel Louise Snyder, journalist and author of "No Visible Bruises".
Rachel Louise Snyder is the author of Fugitive Denim: A Moving Story of People and Pants in the Borderless World of Global Trade, the novel What Weve Lost is Nothing, and No Visible Bruises: What We Dont Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us. Her print work has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times magazine, Slate, Salon, the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the New Republic, and others.

No Visible Bruises is a seminal and breathtaking account of why home is the most dangerous place to be a woman. Through brilliant insights and myth-busting research, compelling storytelling, and a passionate focus on truth-telling, Rachel Louise Snyder places domestic violence exactly where it should be, smack in the center of everything. A tour de force.
