Story
For over thirty years, Partners for Change Ethiopia (PfC Ethiopia) and JeCCDO have empowered communities across Ethiopia through a community-based model of development. This approach, which we call Social Change Makers, has helped local people overcome child poverty and rebuild in the face of war, famine, and violence.
Now, we urgently need to extend this approach to reach some of the most vulnerable people displaced by conflict across northern Ethiopia—in Tigray, Afar, and Amhara. In the past two years alone, over one million people have had to flee their homes due to ongoing violence.
These displaced families—often forgotten once headlines move on—need our support. They’re working to rebuild their lives, but they lack essentials like food, safe drinking water and proper sanitation, which are critical to preventing disease and restoring health. As one mother shared:
“It’s been really difficult to provide for my three children since my husband was killed. I work as a cleaner, but my income doesn’t cover our basic needs. JeCCDO has helped me start a small business, but I often struggle to balance work with caring for my children.”
With your support, we can help women rebuild their lives and create a brighter future for their children. Become a social change-maker and make a difference to the lives of people living in the most vulnerable communities in Ethiopia.
