Story
🍚✨ Rice, a universal symbol of sustenance and joy, holds profound significance in the diverse cultures we serve at Refugee Community Kitchen.
Unfortunately, our donated rice supplies have been depleted, compelling us to secure our own to last the rest of winter. We cannot achieve this alone, and so we are asking our supporters to be a vital part of our mission: For £1295, you can sponsor one pallet of rice (that’s a tonne of basmati rice!), contributing to the sustenance and well-being of countless individuals in our community.
Currently, our kitchen is buzzing with activity, using 120 kgs of rice every day in Calais, as well as 15kgs a day in London. This staple ingredient holds profound significance across various cultures, in our kitchens, basmati rice is more than a mere grain; it is a symbol of providence, blessings, and joy.
One of our core values is preserving the cultural identity of the communities we serve. With pride, we exclusively use Basmati rice, recognising its importance in the rich tapestry of diverse cultures. Your support not only nourishes bodies but also honours the traditions and heritage of those who seek refuge in our community.
Sponsoring a pallet would mean the world to us and the communities we serve, and any amount you can contribute will be hugely appreciated.
With love and gratitude, RCK 🍚✨
