Organised by Children with Cancer UKThe Million Squid is ready to set sail to conquer new marathons. They are looking to raise funds for CwCUK, but also to encourage people to take part in this once in a lifetime team activity and to attempt to break the record over and over again!
On the 20th October 2019, 44 runners broke the world record for running marathon distance in a 40 person costume a Viking boat named The Million Squid. The successful attempt took place at the Yorkshire Marathon and was the first in several planned marathons for the boat, which aims to raise £1,000,000 for Children with Cancer over an 18 month period. This outing alone not only broke the world record, but also raised over £15,000 in the process.
