Story
National Fitness Day, 23rd September 2020, is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping us raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles.
In May this year, the RAF Central Fund (RAFCF) teamed up with Myzone to deliver more than 1,500 Myzone heart rate monitors to serving RAF personnel during the Covid-19 lockdown. The initiative was a big success, uniting serving RAF personnel through exercise at a time when team sports were on hold and Station gyms were closed.
To mark National Fitness Day and provide a unique fundraising opportunity for the charity that supports the health and wellbeing of serving personnel, the RAFCF has set up a special Myzone Team Challenge for members of their Myzone community. Launching on Wednesday, 23 September 2020 and paying homage to National Fitness Days theme of Fitness Unites us, the challenge will set the charity's Myzone competitors a target of 12,000 Myzone Efforts Points (MEP) to reach as a team over a two week period with a finish date of Tuesday, 6 October 2020
The Royal Air Force (RAF) Central Fund is an independent charity that supports serving RAF personnel through grant funding to enable them to take part in sports and physical activities at all levels. We want everyone in the RAF regardless of their role, rank, physical ability or competing level to have access to sports facilities, equipment, and training and through our support we help to safeguard their health and wellbeing.
