Story
Rackets Cubed Core Programme
At Rackets Cubed, we believe that we can enhance the achievement of underserved children through education, racket sports and nutrition. Here are the facts that drive our ethos:
1. Active children have higher school achievement.
2. Nutritious foods improve classroom behaviour.
3. Children from underserved areas are less likely to participate in physical activity outside of school.
4. Nutrition and physical activity interventions in schools tend to have the biggest impact in populations with a high prevalence of disadvantage.
Rackets Cubed gives children the opportunity to fulfil their academic potential, improve their physical and mental health and aim high in all aspects of their daily lives - for example 100% of children improved coordination on a Rackets Cubed programme.
We have c1000 primary school children currently enrolled in over 30 Programmes across the country and we are growing!
My child can't wait to tell me what she has done and what she has had for tea
One hour of STEM Education
One hour of Racket Sports
- 1 hour of squash, table tennis, tennis, badminton or padel to get the kids moving!
One nutritious meal
With 1 in 3 children going hungry on a daily basis, the importance of a nutritious meal included within the programme cannot be understated
Community Box Programme
As well as the nutritious meal provided in our core programmes, Rackets Cubed provides a community box programme to tackle food insecurity in response to Covid, and subsequently the cost of living crisis. Boxes filled with food and essential items are distributed amongst those who are underserved within our communities.
I was really struggling to cope before the food boxes and it has made a massive difference.
Our Community box programme has provided over 1,700,000 meals so far.
Rackets Cubed relies on donations to provide these kids with such opportunity.
- £10 provides 30 children with exercise books
