Show your support for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal - Donate now
As a result of the escalating crisis in Ukraine, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) have launched an emergency appeal to help those in need. The Quilter Foundation has donated £100,000 to the appeal and you can show your support too by leaving a donation via this page.
The DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and have an immediate impact by getting aid to people in Ukraine and those fleeing the conflict after the Russian invasion. The funds will be distributed only to the DECs member charities and carefully vetted and monitored by partners working on the ground.
Every pound donated by the UK public will also be matched by the UK Government up to the value of £20 million, which will effectively double the impact of donations and ensure that charities working on the ground can reach those in urgent need.
The crisis so far...
- Over one million people have fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries with predictions that this figure will rise to over 4 million.
- At least 525 civilian causalities have be confirmed and 227 deaths
- Families are taking shelter underground, in basements, parking lots and subway stations
The first £20,000 raised will be matched pound for pound by Quilter
£10 could provide essential hygiene supplies for one person for one month
£50 could provide blankets for 10 people keeping them warm through cold weather conditions
£100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
How will your donation help?
DEC charities will:
- help to provide affected communities and hospitals with access to clean water and food packages
- ensure that health and protection services are sustained
- provide essential household items/kits including warm clothes, blankets, and shoes to families
