This October, seven of Proman's finest will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of Transaid along with a team of professionals from the transport and logistics industry.
On Sunday 13 October, Proman will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London. We are taking on the 13 mile challenge to raise both money and awareness for Transaid, our partner charity who help transform lives in sub-Saharan Africa.
Spearheaded by Liz Atkinson of Proman, a team of over 40 supporters from across the transport and logistics industry will be taking part in support of Transaid. We'll all be putting in many gruelling hours of training, and we're asking you to support the Proman team by making a donation to Transaid.
Funds raised from the challenge will go directly to Transaid in order to ensure that they can provide safe and sustainable transport solutions in rural communities.
Proman are committed to the wellbeing and safety of those in the logistics industry, which is why we are so passionate about Transaid. We believe that no individual should go to work with fear of not making it home due to unsafe transport or road systems, and equally, everyone should have access to essential healthcare.
Strengthening rural emergency transport systems is essential in the case of severe illnesses, such as malaria, as it is vital that treatment begins within the first 24 hours of symptom onset. Individuals can be transported by bicycle ambulance (provided by Transaid), which is a safe and effective mode of transport.
Proman's team target of £2,500 could provide 5 bicycle ambulances in an area like Serenje District in Zambia in order to ensure that people are reaching health facilities in time.
