Visit the charity's profileBack when I was in Year 5, school was a real struggle. I'd be anxious every day, and dealing with change and disappointment was like trying to wrangle a tornado. I desperately wanted to be in control of everything, but it felt impossible.
Then, along came Phase, shaking things up. They started talking about handling change and disappointment, stuff no one had really discussed with us before. It got me thinking. Each time they showed up, they'd dive into the tough stuff but always leave us with practical tools to deal with it. So, I thought, "Why not give these strategies a shot?"
But the game-changer was when my teacher arranged for me to meet one of the Phase team. It was incredible. They actually listened, understood where I was coming from, and never once passed judgment. All they did was encourage and support.
Fast forward to starting secondary school. I was still scared, but I felt ready. Thanks to Phase, I had a bunch of strategies up my sleeve. And, you won't believe it, when I walked into my new school, there was Phase again. It was like a burst of sunshine on a gloomy day.
Phase has been a savior for me and a bunch of my mates. They've not just taught us crucial stuff but have been there, cheering us on through thick and thin. Their constant presence all the way through school has been a game-changer for us.
