Story
They did it! The team of young adults from Prior's Court and adults from Autism at Kingwood have completed their walkathon event! In total the two teams completed 325 laps of the Prior's Court track which is roughly 195km!
Thank you for all of your kind and generous donations. There is still time to donate and congratulate the team on their success if you would like to.
On the 17th April, during World Autism Acceptance Month, a team of 25 young adults from Prior's Court and 25 adults from Autism at Kingwood will be walking laps of the Prior's Court 0.6km track. The Prior's Court team will be attempting to cumulatively complete 200 laps and raise £250!
Both Charities were founded by Dame Stephanie Shirley and are joining forces for a joint event to raise money and acceptance for autistic people. A cumulative target of laps has been set, rather than each person having a individual target, to reflect the importance of inclusivity and teamwork that both charities so value.
Together, the 2 charities directly support close to 200 people – with Prior’s Court specialising in education and residential care for autistic young people with complex needs aged 5 to 25 and Autism at Kingwood supporting autistic adults.
The team of 25 young adults from Prior's Court are raising money for Prior's Court's fun and recreation appeal which enables young people at Prior's Court to experience the same things as others their age such as summer fairgrounds, fireworks displays and Santa's grotto. The team is made up of Alfie, Brandon, Daniel, Fred, Freya, Harry, Henry, Jack, James, Jamie, Jessica, Joseph, Luca, Oliver, Rowan, Shaun, Taran, Tezira, William and more young adults from Prior's Court.
The Prior's Court Step by Step team have combined target of raising £250 and would be so grateful if you would consider donating to this team page. The money raised could pay for climbing walls during Prior's Court's Summer of Fun or for 4 houses to attend a Christmas pantomime. You can read more about this appeal HERE.
