This December may be very different. This year has been a difficult one for us all. As we come to the end of 2020 we want to give you a chance to take something positive from this year and help make a real difference by:
1. Making a donation to protect future generations from skin cancer
2. Learning to check your family's skin (and your own!) to detect the signs of skin cancer using our FREE downloadable booklet.
3. Liking and following us on Facebook , Instagram and Twitter.
While we've all been thinking about COVID-19, the problem of skin cancer hasn't gone away - it remains the UKs most common and fastest rising cancer.
Combatting this devastating disease starts with educating future generations. Sunburn in childhood significantly increases a child's chance of developing the disease in later life and melanoma is already the biggest killing cancer in the 15-34 age group.
Since 2013, we have worked with thousands of schools across the UK educating almost 750,00 children and their families about sun safety through our Sun Safe Schools national accreditation programme. After 10 years of lobbying government, in September 2020 sun safety education was finally made a mandatory part of the new PSHE curriculum in primary schools in England.
We are expecting a bumper year in 2021 for our FREE Sun Safe Schools accreditation programme which provides primary schools with comprehensive tools and resources to educate children and their families about sun safety in a fun and engaging way - empowering them to look after themselves in the sun.
Can you support us to protect future generations from skin cancer with a donation?
