Story

Thank you for visiting our PreventALL Spring Raffle 2023 donation page.

Our raffle has attracted gift donations from some incredible local businesses across Shropshire and we hope that you will love the prizes on offer. Tickets are £5 each, with many high value prizes to be won from the latest Dyson V15 Vacuum, an Afternoon Tea for two at a beautiful Shropshire hotel, Paintballing, a Gin Distillery Tour and Tasting session, meals and tickets to many local events, we have a huge array of prizes on offer! The raffle will be drawn on Wednesday 31st May and will go out live on our Facebook page. We will name winners on the facebook page and be in touch directly to arrange delivery of your prize. Every ticket you purchase and money you donate will go towards helping local families with children undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), or other blood related cancers. We also support research into the prevention of childhood ALL.

When you purchase a raffle ticket via our JustGiving page, please make sure to LEAVE YOUR NAME as your name and an allocated ticket number will be entered into a random generator to make the draw. If you would like a copy of your raffle ticket sent in the post, please email me jo@preventall.org, with your name, address and confirm the number of tickets purchased, so that we can match up the donation online and issue your raffle tickets. IMPORTANT: if you leave your name as anonymous next to your Justgiving donation, we won't be able to enter you into the draw and your ticket purchase will act as charitable donation.

Here's a little background on us.....

Our little boy Tommy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in April 2021. Before his diagnosis, he had always been a fit, healthy & strong little boy, the youngest of three boys but almost certainly the loudest! We started to notice small changes that we rationalised as completely innocent symptoms, until the pieces started to fit together and our worst nightmare came true.

Tommy is now 6 and two years into his three year treatment plan, he is doing well! He tackles everything (almost!) with a smile. We have settled into a routine with his chemo treatment and come to terms (as much as you can) with the situation we find ourselves in. As long as Tommy continues to do well, so will we, he keeps us positive and smiling. And like any 6 year old, her certainly keeps us busy.

We decided to set up the charity to help other families locally who find themselves in the devastating situation of a child's cancer diagnosis. We also felt compelled to support research into the prevention of childhood ALL. The Institute of Cancer Research are doing amazing work and making steps forward in this direction. We hope one day a preventative medicine will be found and much heartache will be saved
