Story
April 23rd is Library Giving Day, an event that gives library lovers like you a chance to elevate and support your local library.
Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is a nationally recognized system of public libraries serving a population of more than 650,185 in El Paso County, Colorado. With fifteen facilities, online resources, and mobile library service, PPLD responds in unique and innovative ways to meet the needs of individual neighborhoods and the community at large.
When we at Pikes Peak Library District were first preparing for this year's #librarygivingday campaign, we couldn't have known just how important this special day of giving would be for our library this year. In response to the COVID19 pandemic, PPLD is coming together with four local makers and utilizing its four 3D printers to print head pieces for face guards. Our team put together thousands of books to be handed out at the free lunch distribution sites throughout the city! Now when people show up for a meal, they'll go home with a book, too. We've recently adapted our remote and virtual services for patrons who desire to continue to enrich their minds and nurture their curiosity while at home. We've helped parents navigate the at-home learning landscape and provided valuable distance learning resources to people of all ages in our community.
In these unprecedented times, PPLD is a constant. And that's thanks to the caring support of generous individuals like you.
This Library Giving Day, will you show your appreciation and support for Pikes Peak Library District by making a gift?
When you do, you'll help keep Pikes Peak Library District stronger and more prepared to accommodate the changing times and the growing need for our many critical services.
We know these are extraordinary times and depending on how you have been impacted, you may not be able to participate in Library Giving Day right now. We understand and please know that any gift, no matter how large or small, will go a long way toward keeping us strong for our community now and in the future.
On Library Giving Day, we can all come together as champions of our local libraries. Thank you for helping us stay strong. Were so grateful for your support!
