Mosaik and CCG's 'Twinning Project' are partnering to to provide 100 generators to Ukrainian universities before winter. 70% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure is destroyed. These generators will keep student studying and universities operational, and preventing displacement of 50k students.
Russian attacks have destroyed approximately 70% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, leaving many universities without reliable power. This crisis threatens to displace up to 50,000 students from their dormitories, forcing them to become refugees or abandon their studies. The approaching winter exacerbates the urgency, as heating becomes a critical need for survival and continued education.
Our campaign aims to provide 100 generators (60-80 kW each) to Ukrainian universities before winter. These generators will power heating systems in student dormitories, ensuring students can continue their education in safe, warm conditions. The Ukrainian Ministry of Education has committed to installing and fuelling the generators, ensuring efficient and immediate impact.
By providing these generators, we will directly prevent the displacement of up to 50,000 students, allowing them to continue their education despite the ongoing conflict. This support will help maintain Ukraine's intellectual capital, crucial for the country's future recovery and development.
If we don't meet our target, we'll purchase as many generators as possible with the funds raised, prioritizing the most critically affected universities. Any excess funds will be used to purchase additional generators or support related energy infrastructure needs for Ukrainian universities. If the campaign becomes invalid, funds will be redirected to other critical support initiatives for Ukrainian higher education through our established Ukraine Twinning project.
