Appreciate the people around you, adventure with them, buy less stuff, and go out to experience the world. Laugh, dance, and have fun. Respect the world and look after the bees. - Polly Birch
Polly's Fund was set up to offer a unique opportunity for Isle of Wight children to enjoy a five-day sailing or water-sports course during their summer holidays. Enabling them to have fun, be adventurous, and learn new skills through participation in outdoor activities. As part of the challenge, each child is asked to raise £20. They are encouraged to do this through sponsorship of activities like washing cars, helping neighbours, doing household chores, or anything else they can think of!
Since it launched in 2018, more than 500 Island children have taken up Polly's Challenge and had exciting adventures on the water - just as Polly wished. All money raised helps to make this dream a reality and gives young people chance to unleash a passion for adventure and the sea with their friends.
