With kind permission of Zyla's handler, we are sharing her story and opening an in memory page for her.
PD Zyla from Leicestershire Police sadly died on duty on 3rd July 2024. She was in pursuit of a suspect wanted on suspicion of attempted murder. After both the suspect and Zyla entered the water, she became unresponsive and was taken to the vets, where she sadly died.
The suspect has been arrested for #FinnsLaw, for causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. Our deepest thoughts are with the police dog's handler and family at this extremely difficult time. Thank you for your loyal service, you will not be forgotten. 🌈💙🐶🇬🇧
