Story
Whether you’re looking for a stocking filler or a new calendar for your kitchen wall, SARSVL’s ‘A Year of Feminist Poetry 2025’ might be just the thing. It's the product of 17 women’s work, bringing together 12 original poems and 13 original pieces of art. From poems about friendship, love, marching and, of course, our wonderful feminist retirement in ‘the hag house’, there will be many poems for you to enjoy along with their beautifully illustrated accompanying art. What’s even better is that with every calendar purchased, your money goes straight to SARSVL to continue our specialist support for survivors of sexual violence.
The story behind the calendar
The calendar began on International Women’s Day 2024 when we opened for submissions of feminist poetry on the themes of sisterhood, female friendship, women we admire, respect and love, and ‘what a world free from oppression could look like’. From there we selected 12 poems submitted from across England (and even one from across the pond in the USA!) and worked with local artists who volunteered to help the calendar come to life.
We’re selling the calendar to raise vital funds for SARSVL’s work supporting women and girl survivors of sexual violence in Leeds. Donations like yours help keep our specialist counselling, helpline and advocacy services running and free for all service users.
How to donate
You can buy a calendar for a suggested donation of £8, or 2 for £15 if you’re looking to buy a prezzie for someone else as well. The total suggested donations for these options including postage is £10 for 1 and £18 for 2.
We also have a ‘pay forward’ option where you can pay £18 for your own calendar and also cover the cost of a second calendar we will give to a SARSVL service user for free.
But if you’re willing and able to give more, please pay as you feel to contribute to our small northern Rape Crisis Centre.
Once you've made your donation, please email us at info@sarsvl.org.uk with a screenshot / pic of the confirmation, letting us know whether any of your purchases are for paying forward, and whether you'd like to collect your calendar(s) from Leeds city centre, or else where you'd like it/them posting to.
Whatever you fancy - just one for yourself, for a loved one or paying it forward - we think they’re the perfect year-long gift.
