Story
Hello, welcome to the Pluck Project 2024! Pluck is a student-led initiative comprised of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts senior contemporary dancers. We are excited to be venturing into our senior year at UNCSA and to share our Pluck Project journey with you!
The Pluck project is an opportunity for us to build upon the skills we've learned in school and apply them to a professional opportunity beyond the UNCSA campus. As we transition from being students to professional artists this experience gives us the opportunity to connect with choreographers, artistic directors, and performing artists currently working in the dance industry.
Throughout the year, we will develop transferable skills in the areas of marketing, fundraising, outreach, budgeting, and collaborative producing, all of which will benefit us as we enter the professional world.
Our yearlong efforts culminate in a trip to New York where we will be participating in a choreographic residency with four alumni choreographers as they create new works. While there we will also have the opportunity to attend classes, workshops and auditions. Rehearsals for the choreographic residency will be open to directors, choreographers and industry leaders so they can watch as the new works unfold throughout the week and will culminate in a showcase for the New York dance community.
Your support will help us make our project a reality. Every gift is invaluable and helps us get one step closer to accomplishing our goals.
