Sadly we are unable to run our school summer fete this year, which usually raises £3000. Being one of the major fundraisers for the Plaxtol School Association (PSA), this will have a big impact on the money available to help support the school during lockdown and for the next academic year.

Some of the items we need to buy include an online reading scheme, the subscription to Tapestry (online learning portal) and replacement shade tents to maintain bubbles for children's outside learning and play.

As there will be no summer fete this year, and since we are all so used to doing things virtually these days, it would be fantastic if the school and parish community could come together as we always do so well and hold a VIRTUAL SCHOOL FETE! Below are some ideas for stalls which could be run with friends and family, to raise sponsorship. Hopefully we can get close to the £3000 we would have made at the fete.

Here are some ideas for sponsored School Fete stalls:

Water Stocks - Recruit your family for a sponsored wet sponge throwing competition. Who can get the most shots in a set amount of time??

Face Painting - Have a family face painting competition, charge for entry or get sponsored for how many different face painting designs you can come up with.

Target Practice 1 - Use plastic bottles/cups or tin cans stack them up and see how many you & your family can knock down. Get sponsored per bottle/cup knocked over.

Target Practice 2 - Make your own colourful targets and use nerf guns or water pistols to hit them. Get sponsored for how many targets you can hit.

Bounce & Jump - If you have a trampoline at home why not pretend its a bouncy castle and get sponsored for how many minutes you can jump for or how many tricks you can do.

Beat the Goalie - Challenge your family to Beat the Goalie. Get sponsored for how many goals you get or save!

Guess the sweets in the jar - Fill a jar with sweets and send a photo to all your friends and family. Ask them to pay to guess how many are in the jar. The winner wins the sweets!!!

Baking competition - Challenge your friends and family to a baking competition. They must pay to enter. Or have a sponsored bake, how many cakes can you bake in a morning??

Sponsored balloon burst - Get sponsored for the number of balloons you can burst with your bottom!! Get the whole family doing it, see if you can all do it WITHOUT laughing .

Egg & Spoon Race - Run your own egg and spoon race either ask your family & friends to pay to take part or get sponsored for the number of laps you can do without dropping your egg.

Lockdown Challenges - Could someone in your family shave their lockdown hair or beard, or cut off their pony tail, for sponsor money? Perhaps family or friends could donate some of the money saved on their lockdown commute or coffee shop coffees?

To help with this event, please:

- Get as many people involved as you can (observing social distancing guidelines).

- Get as much sponsorship as you can! Every penny really does make a difference and it is a great way of involving friends and family. If everyone were to raise even a small amount, this would go a long way towards our target.

- Take photos & videos and share them on the private Plaxtol PSA Facebook page or email them to the school.

- Donate anyway! If you cant manage any of the activities as you are juggling home-school and work please consider donating anyway via this campaign! Please tick the box for Gift Aid if you are eligible.

We hope you have lots of fun getting family & friends involved and we cant wait to see what you get up to. We'd love to have donations in by the end of term on 22nd July 2020, but amounts are welcome at any time.
