Story
To anyone who donated in the last couple of weeks, thank you. We recently experienced a technical error with donations where all donations before 28th September were refunded. We apologise for any inconvenience and have now managed to fix the donations link if you would like to donate again.
PIRATE.COM has teamed up with two charity fundraisers EOTT and Last Night The DJ Saved My Life to break the world record for most DJs to play B2B. The event will raise money for music mental health charity - KeyChanges.
The event will take place on 25th September 2021 at PIRATE Tottenham inviting over 200 DJs to perform back to back as part of a broadcasted live stream.
The event is raising money for a fantastic charity - Key Changes. It provides music engagement and recovery services in hospitals and the community for young people and adults affected by mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder and psychosis. Their award-winning programme promotes wellbeing and recovery through developing creative, technical and vocational skills and opens pathways to mainstream opportunities in education, training, work experience and employment. Their innovative approach draws on clinical therapeutic techniques and professional music industry practice.
The fundraising goal is to reach £5,000 - and heres how all donations make a difference:
£200 would fund a 5-week Studio Discovery experience for a young person wanting to re-engage with music
£1,000 would fund six months of mentoring support for a young musician experiencing mental illness
£5,000 would fund one year of weekly music activities for young mental health patients in hospital
If you would like to donate you are in the right place: you can donate directly via this Just Giving page. Every little helps! Thank you.
Below is more information on the two incredible charity fundraisers working closely with PIRATE.COM to raise funds for KeyChanges and to make this event possible:
Who is eott?
eott, a music community that cares about mental health. Fathered in Oct 19 by Levvy, with the brotherly help of Eyes, in Brighton.
Inspired by the desire to create a brand whose sole focus is mental health, all year round, beyond just mental health awareness week.
They produce a range of products and media as their way of achieving their mission - the normalisation of the perception of mental health with everything they do designed to inform or inspire breaking down of the stigma.
They are like a brand in that they release clothes, provide media and throw parties etc. though they are also like a charity in that they work solely towards one cause, as well as raising near £15,000. They wouldnt call themselves either though, somewhere in between those two, yeah, a charitable brand as such, thats eott.
On top of that near £15,000 raised, theyve worked alongside popular music brands Keep Hush and Krudd, received support from artists such as Loyle Carner, Slowthai and Mahalia. Their information pamphlets (such as reasons to check up on your mates + checking up on ones g) have accumulated viewership in the 6 figures, whilst their u k, g? clothes have reached all corners of the country and globe, even on Hungarian Big Brother.
