July holds a very special day of celebration. On July 26th our country celebrates the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This Act and its revisions have made it so that our friends with disabilities have access to informed choices and greater possibilities in their lives. That is something to celebrate! That's why ADEC will be hosting a virtual event, Picture Possibilities, which will invite all our friends, families, and supporters to join in weekly challenges, shared accomplishments, and celebrated possibilities!
This is an opportunity for us to celebrate possibilities, while supporting our neighbors with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that they can overcome challenges and share in these possibilities. All Picture Possibilities fundraisers will support ADEC's underfunded but vital programs like guardianship, family services, transportation, and skills training.
Join ADEC as we embark on a month of common challenges, shared experiences, and celebrated successes! Each week we will have a new challenge to participate in and we encourage all of our supporters, families, friends, clients, and staff to start their own Picture Possibilities fundraisers and take part in the fun!
Create a fundraiser, complete challenges, share your successes (or funny fails), and invite your friends. We need your help to provide more choices and greater possibilities for our friends and families with disabilities!
Challenge: Complete the weekly ADEC challenge. Whether it is an athletic feat or baking sourdough bread, you can make it possible!
Share: We want to see what you did! Share a picture or video of your completed challenge and tag ADEC or use the hashtag #picturepossibilities. Don't forget to challenge a friend to participate and give to your fundraiser for ADEC!
Celebrate: You did it! Celebrate your success and donate to ADEC's Picture Possibilities campaign to support your friends and families with disabilities so that they can overcome challenges and celebrate possibilities.
Transparency matters and we want you to be confident that your donations are making a difference in your community. Every dollar raised through your fundraiser and the Picture Possibilities campaign will go directly to ADEC's underfunded programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Because of you, vital services like ADEC's guardianship program, transportation, family services, and skills and training for young adults with disabilities can continue to provide more choices and greater possibilities in our communities.
