Story
Picturehouse is proud to be supporting Refuge which helps women and children experiencing domestic violence. Our ongoing partnership will see all 26 Picturehouse Cinemas collectively raise funds to support the vital work of this national charity.
Domestic abuse is the biggest issue affecting women and children in our society today. It affects one in four women at some point in their lives and around 800,000 children every year. This is why we've set ourselves a target of raising £50,000 by the end of the year which will amount to the equivalent of 962 nights in emergency refuge accommodation.
Were already off to an amazing start with the hugely successful awareness-raising short film Hide and Seek which runs before every 15 rated film at Picturehouse Cinemas. The short film shines a light on the life-saving support Refuge provides and gives details on how you can donate £5 by texting House to 70730.
Each one of our cinema teams is coming up with ingenious ways to help us reach our target. From holding quizzes, hosting bake sales and life drawing classes, to making sure everyone knows about our company-wide incentives. These include rounding up till purchases to the nearest pound, a 10p donation that we give to Refuge for every cup of tea sold, the text to donate option or simply making a donation in the cinema.
Check back here to see what great activities our Picturehouse teams have rustled up! You can help us reach our target by donating directly to this page to help us reach our goal. Well make even the smallest donations go a long way to support the crucial work of Refuge.
