Story
Shorter University has a distinguished history of training quality musicians as soloists, collaborative artists, church musicians, and teachers. During that training, every music student spends countless hours practicing and performing to refine their craft. To continue our strong music tradition and support our students, Shorter University established the Piano Program Project in 2019.
This year, we are in the final phase of this project. Phase 3 will fully rebuild the Steinway grand piano in Brookes Chapel, which was given in honor of renowned piano teacher Ms. Elizabeth Buday. To restore the Steinway to its original condition, we will replace the action, strings, and sound board, and even refinish the cabinet.
To help reach our goal, we are looking for donors for each of the 88 keys on the piano.
$225 will cover the cost of one key
$675 will cover the cost of a triad (3 keys)
$2700 will cover the cost of an entire octave (12 keys)
For every key you sponsor, we will send you an original hammer from Ms. Buday's piano when the work is completed. Any amount will help move #SUForward as we repair this special instrument. We invite you to partner with us as we invest in the lives of #FutureGenerationsforChrist and their future ministries in the field of fine arts.
