Story
Peterborough Presents works with communities and artists to create fun and diverse creative projects across Peterborough. We work in all art forms; music, visual art, craft, film, performance both outdoors and indoors. We create projects that unlock stories that are relevant to local people.
We work across the city, with audiences who have limited access to the arts and creativity. This might be specific neighbourhoods (e.g. Millfield, Ortons, Eye and Westwood) or demographic groups (e.g. people with disabilities, young people, global communities of colour, men).
These local communities are fully involved in all parts of our projects, working with us to decide what types of projects we should develop and why, deciding who the artists should be and supporting the delivery of the project. In the past we have worked with communities to create festivals, virtual reality games, film-making courses and screenings, performances, cabaret nights, music workshops, den-building and murals. Together we have created alternate histories, through theatre, reimagined green spaces and more.
Our work relies on grants and donations to enable us to do this brilliant work. Your donation will allow us to continue doing what we do, bringing communities together and supporting peoples creativity.
All of our projects are led by a set of key values:
Our programmes are built on trust and respect for our participants, partners and artists
We take the time to listen and respond to the communities we work with
We recognise and celebrate the existing skills and knowledge held within the communities we work with
We continue to be relevant and welcoming
We are responsive, exciting and experimental
We reflect and openly share our learning
We aim for all our projects to have a positive impact on peoples wellbeing and the environment
Any size of donation is incredibly welcome, however small or large. We have suggested some ways below that your donation might help
