Story
Pequot Library is here and we care!
During these challenging times, Pequot Library is proud to serve our community through a variety of digital programs and content for patrons of all ages. Since closing our doors in March, our talented staff has created a wide array of online activities from author talks to book clubs to homeschooling tips and educational activities, reaching thousands of digital participants. We look forward to bringing back our live programs and events as soon as possible. Last year we provided for the community 585 programs and events, 42 school and group tours, and library services to 64,108 patrons, including nearly 40% who were children.
There is no doubt that this year will be different. Organizations and individuals must adjust to a new normal of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. We know that the community needs our library, perhaps more than ever before, as a place of culture, learning and resources which are, as our founder phrased it, free as air to all.
As we prepare to reopen for curbside pickup, the reality is that we need your help at this time.
The annual events which are central to Pequot Library's fundraising have been cancelled or postponed until our next fiscal year. This will take an enormous toll. Your gift now will have a tremendous positive impact on Pequot Library's future.
Our goal is to raise $200,000 by June 30th, the end of our fiscal year.
To make up for the loss of critical fundraising events, we still must raise an additional $46,000 by June 30th, the end of our fiscal year. We genuinely need your help to accomplish this. Thank you for considering a generous gift of support that will directly support our library services, educational programs, and Special Collections exhibitions.
