Help Us Raise £50,000 to Save Vital Therapy for Vulnerable Adopted Children *Please see update*

We urgently need your help to ensure vulnerable children can continue receiving vital therapy services.
We urgently need your help to ensure vulnerable children can continue receiving vital therapy services.
We are The Purple Elephant Project, a charity dedicated to helping children affected by trauma, instability and loss, to rebuild their lives. Through high-quality art and play therapy services, we offer a safe space for children as young as four, to process difficult experiences, express themselves, and restore trust. However, our ability to continue providing this essential support is now under threat.
We recently received news that the vital funding we receive through the Government initiative, Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF) is set to end on March 31st, 2025, with no confirmation of renewal. This funding is a lifeline to over 50 of our families with adopted children or those living with special guardians, who will lose their therapy immediately if we don’t get the funding we need.
While we await the Government’s decision, we urgently need to raise £50,000 to cover the imminent funding gap. We cannot afford any interruption to our services which could lead to these families facing crisis, breakdowns, loss of education, and severe emotional harm. We cannot let this happen.
Please donate to ensure these children can continue to receive the support they need. while we push for a long-term solution. Even if the Government renews ASGSF, delays will leave families waiting in distress.
It costs £4,000 per week to provide therapy for the 50 children we support who rely on ASGSF.
100% of donations will go directly to one-to-one therapy sessions for these children.
Without action, these children will lose the support they desperately need.
Please donate today and share this campaign to help us reach more people.
Together, we can ensure PEP remains a safe space where vulnerable children receive the care they deserve.
💜 Your Support Can Change Lives 💜
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has already donated to support vulnerable children at risk of losing vital therapy services. These children—adopted or living with special guardians—depend on the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund, which has recently been in limbo due to government delays.
We are thrilled that yesterday (1/4), Children's Minister Janet Daby MP finally confirmed the continuation of this essential fund. However, while this is promising news, we still lack critical details about its rollout. Delays have resulted in a significant backlog of applications, meaning we may be unable to begin/resume therapy with children we currently see as well as those on our waiting list. Consequently, we still face a significant funding gap and uncertainty - leaving many children and their families in distress about their ability to access our services.
Minimising this disruption remains our top priority and we are committed to ensuring that children can continue receiving the support they so urgently need.
This is why our appeal remains active, with every penny going towards bridging the funding gap between yesterday’s announcement and official implementation - ensuring continuity of care during this uncertain time.
Should the government decide to backdate any ASGSF funding to March 31st, any donations will be used to fund therapy for the many other children on our waitlist who have yet to be offered the support they need.
Your support has made, and will continue to make a real difference - helping us to keep these crucial therapy sessions going. Please consider donating today to help us stand by these children and their families when they need it most.
Thank you for your continued kindness and generosity.
