Help vulnerable older people survive this winter

Around 2.5 million financially vulnerable older people are at risk of losing the Winter Fuel Payment and have told us they are facing the impossible choice between ‘eating or heating’.

When oOlder people who are unable to adequately heat their homes are especially at risk of a stroke, heart attacks, respiratory diseases, and tragically death. This risk becomes even higher for those who are already disabled or have underlying health conditions.

We’re launching a £250,000 appeal to provide the urgent support for older people this winter.

We know that services such as ‘warm rooms’, community cafes, and digital literacy classes are vital to help older people access the support and advice they need, but our local charities face increasingly limited resources and budgets - and that’s where we come in.

With your support we can make sure grassroots community organisations working directly with older people can provide them with the support that they will need to survive this winter.
