Story

Meet Penny, the 10 year old Jack Russel living in rescue, and recently diagnosed with Cancer.

Penny was a stray who came to live with us at NAWT Cornwall while she waited for a home of her own.

Upon coming in to rescue as a stray, we dont know anything about a dogs background, personality or past, but with Penny we started piecing things together fairly quickly. Penny appeared to have been bred multiple times over her life, so we knew it was even more urgent for this beautiful girl to have a vet check ASAP.

Every dog who comes in to rescue gets, amongst other things, a health check with the vet. During her Vet Check the Vet noticed some lumps on her sides, and after further investigation Penny was diagnosed with Mammary Tumours on both sides.

Because of their locations, they can't all be removed in one go, so Penny will require 2 operations spaced around 8 weeks apart to remove her Cancer.

So thats where we are right now. The operations will come out at around £1500 so our aim is to reach this target and get Penny booked in for her life changing operations, which will have a huge impact on her quality of life and future.

She may be 10 but Penny is as full of life as any pup! She loves nothing more than snuggling up to the staff at the centre, and anyone she meets on a walk! She really is everybody's best friend! And we want to ensure that Penny has the Cancer free future that this happy little girl truly deserves.
