Story
The Penny Brohn-athon: Your Marathon, Your Way
We’re inviting you to join Team PB and complete a half marathon (13.1 miles) or full marathon (26.2 miles) across the 31 days of October.
You can run, walk or wheel your way to the finish. Do a little each day, fit your miles in each week, or simply find a routine that works for you. Whether you’re sprinting, strolling or scooting, every mile you complete will help raise money for Penny Brohn UK.
1st-31st October.
Why take part?
At Penny Brohn UK, we support people living with cancer to live as well as possible, from diagnosis and treatment through to life after cancer.
Cancer can affect much more than your physical health. Our free support helps people look after their wellbeing in a way that works for them, with support around things like nutrition, movement, emotional wellbeing, relaxation and managing the impact of cancer and its treatment.
"The NHS saved my life, Penny Brohn UK showed me how to live it. " - Jennie
By taking on the Penny Brohn-athon and fundraising, you’ll be helping us continue to provide this support to people living with cancer and their loved ones.
And while you’re raising money for a great cause, you’ll hopefully get something out of the challenge too. October is a great time to get outside, get moving and build some healthy habits.
The challenge
Choose your distance: Half marathon (13.1 miles) or full marathon (26.2 miles) during the month of October (1st-31st).
There’s no right way to do it. A walk around the park, a morning run or a few extra miles on the school run — it all counts.
You don’t need to send us proof of your miles either. You can keep track using your favourite fitness tracker or smartphone app and share your progress with your supporters if you’d like to.
Make your miles count
Penny Brohn UK’s support is free to people living with cancer, and we rely on fundraising and donations to help us keep providing it.
Your fundraising helps us be there for people when they need us, with support that looks at the whole person, not just their cancer.
By taking part, you’re helping more people access the support, information and tools they need to look after their wellbeing and live as well as possible.
