Story
Every week, the Peck National Honors Society students shop, transport, bag and distribute food to the lockers of students in need of food over the weekend. Over 10% of the families within the school district utilize the program, thats approximately 115 residents this year.
The purpose of this program is to provide supplemental nutrition to low-income families. It helps fill a nutrition gap by ensuring families get a bag of food containing at least one non-perishable vegetable, fruit, protein, carbohydrate, and two miscellaneous items. Six items total are sent home every week.
It takes on average about $200 per week to supply this much needed resource. When you give to this program you help us nourish our community. Not just with food, but with caring, a hand up, and a sense of belonging.
