Hi All
I'm a development chef at Thomas Franks in London, 40 years old with three kids and getting married in August to my wife ❤️ to be.
Just over a year ago, my health and weight were not in the best place, and I had a big wake up call. I started my road to recovery by training and running to help with my fitness and raise some money for a fantastic charity that is close to my family’s heart.
I quickly rediscovered my love of running and training. Earlier this year, I ran the Hackney Half Marathon and loved it so much I wanted to go again. I’ve decided the Rome Half Marathon in October is perfect as I have time to train, prepare and raise funds. I want to improve my time, experience a different country and most importantly, raise some more money and awareness for the Thomas Franks Foundation.
I've have always been inspired by the work of the Foundation and I'm keen to get involved and help where I can. I have been very fortunate and grateful to help with the Feeding Communities programme and realised the scale of food poverty. I know the feeling well as I grew up in the poorest borough in east London and witnessed this many times .
The Rome Half Marathon – October 20 2024
‘The Rome Half Marathon will be an amazing opportunity to discover the city’s gems. The route, 21.0975 km long, will pass through the city centre, crossing the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, Piazza Navona and many other historical sites. This incredible half marathon will be also about inclusion, giving to the participants a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a fundraising project linked to the Half Marathon Relay’.
