Story
Sadly, we have just taken in a third litter of puppies with Parvovirus.
Dumped in a box on the street at night, the six puppies were taken by the finder to an emergency vet for treatment. Tragically, three did not survive the night. The remaining three pups, who appear to be Pointer type breed, have been transferred to our vets to continue emergency treatment.
If you've followed us a while and seen our previous campaigns you'll know how expensive the anti viral medication and other supportive care is for pups with Parvo, with the bills coming in at multiple thousands.
Nonetheless, we have to do all we can to try and save the remaining three puppies. At the moment they are still managing to eat, but it is often the case that as the virus takes hold, nasal tube feeding becomes necessary. They have chronic diarrhoea and other typical parvo symptoms.
We understand that the financial climate is challenging for many at the moment, including small independent charities such as ours. Rehoming has slowed, relinquishments of pets has increased and the need for financial support to the community for pet supplies and vet treatments puts a new strain on our own resources too. So, if you can donate toward this litter of pups it would be greatly appreciated.
But if you cannot donate, we understand and could we ask you to share our campaign instead? However you choose to support our branch and our work, we are enormously thankful and could not do it without you.
