Story
Part 1 of the tour has been a great success and Part 2 is still to take place.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet such amazing women, such a moving visit.
(a voice from Britain)
What a great visit - Thank you and all of the team for everything, I felt proud to represent my country in Britain. I felt people were very supportive. It was really great
(a voice from Palestine)
In March 2023, we brought ten Palestinian women to meet women across the UK and tell their stories, promoting Palestinian human rights at International Women's Day events, to local women's groups and other organisations, meeting women young and old across the UK. Look out for reports of it on CADFA's own webpage and Facebook, and also on the social media of organisations across London and in St Alban's, Luton, Northampton, Birmingham, Walsall, Manchester, Nelson, mid-Wales, Cardiff, Bristol, Devon and Cornwall (hope we haven't forgotten anywhere!)... It was really a great programme, and though our women visitors brought with them terrible stories, the visit was overall optimistic and hopeful.
Do not forget me, my friends
The UK visa department was so slow returning one women's passport (maybe they mislaid it?) that she couldn't come with the group. We have decided to change this disappointment into an extension of the project and we have to bring her to the UK this summer along with two other women to make a second part of the Palestinian Women's Voices tour and continue the aims of the visit.
Palestinian voices matter!
We are still putting the pennies together to cover the first visit and then we will run part 2 and also organise a Palestinian children's visit ...and look out for more! This is part of the Building Hope | Promoting Palestinian Voices project which aims to bring Palestinian voices to the UK on a regular basis.
