On the 23rd April, Chief Shaun will be walking 40 kilometers around Halesworth. He will be stopping off at favourite places and would love to see you on the day.
Shaun is raising funds for Halesworth Volunteers, not just because he is a super hero (though, like all our volunteers, he is) but because he knows that our services make all the difference. Mrs D really struggled when her husband died, but she was too proud to ask for help. When Shaun took her for a routine appointment at the Paget, he could see how lonely she was. He told her about our Community Lunches and asked if she might like to go along. Now Mrs D goes every month, she has made a lovely group of friends and even met up with someone she used to be at school with. She still misses her husband every day but she has something to look forward to. This is just one of the ways that Halesworth Volunteers can make lives better.
We get people to their appointments, provide befriending support to people who are alone, we walk dogs and do people's shopping. Anything that helps an older person or someone who is struggling to live the best life they can.
We also run Halesworth Community Larder, a place for everyone where you share food, swap food or get vital household supplies if you are struggling.
By supporting Shaun as he strides round Halesworth, you too can make a difference and make local lives better.
